First game of a Double Header facing the Westport Wreckers
(6-28-2008)
Capitals 5 – Wreckers 2 Player highlights: Nick Johnson had two hits and two rbi's in the first game. Game highlights: In the first inning, Nick Johnson and Derek Pike supplied the big hits and RBI's. Also, James Sullivan and Derek Pike had an RBI singles in the first inning. The Wreckers managed to shut the team down until the 6th inning. However, Nick Johnson hit a 2 Base hit and then followed with another base hit scoring 2. The offence was able to get five runs to score with eight base hits. Defensively, James Sullivan had a rough start by walking three batters. He then had a strikeout, a ground out and a fly out. Even after the rough start he only gave up one run in the first inning. One more run scored in the 2nd inning. The defense finished the game with Sullivan pitching six solid innings. Tyler Lepage pitched the final inning with only four pitches for three outs. The entire defensive game was played with only one error in the field. Second game of a Double Header facing the Westport Wreckers (6-28-2008) Capitals 5 – Wreckers 9 The Capitals got on top early again scoring in the first inning and the Wreckers had to play from behind. Zach Decaro figured in on the offense with a single and later scored on a base hit by Alec Sanchez. Zach Decaro pitched a strong 6.9 innings in the heat but the defense failed him at times. Despite the fielding errors the game stayed within one or two runs until the 7th inning. However, with a total of eight fielding errors the Capitals poor team defense attributed to this tough loss. Capitals 16 Dirt Dogs 6
The Capitals offense shined this weekend as Dylan Ratti and
Derek Pike both had homeruns for the Capitals. Ratti was a
triple shy of the cycle as he went 4-4 with a HR, 2B and two
singles. Nick Johnson and Zach Decaro had three hits and Alec
Sanchez and James Sullivan had two hits as well. The Capitals
ended the game with 19 hits. James Sullivan pitched well for
the Capitals and Tyler Lepage came in and shut the door.
Capitals 9 Dirt Dogs 4
Zach Decaro had a rough start but came out pitching another
great game for the Capitals. Nick Johnson went 3-4 for the
Capitals. Matt Lis came in for the Capitals to pitch in the
seventh to shut the door. Lis had two K's out of the three
outs.

Chesire Reds 8 Capitals 7
Troy Russel had two hits and Dylan Ratti had two hits a piece
for the Capitals. The Reds scored 4 runs with two outs in the
6th and the game winning run with two outs.
Manchester Mayhem 5 Ct Capitals 1
James Sullivan pitched well for the Capitals only allowing 1 run
in 6 innings.
Norwalk 4 Ct Capitals 3
Capitals had nine hits and just came up short
against Norwalk. Matt Lis, Nick Barone and Dylan Ratti each had
2 hits a piece for the capitals. Ryan Mercer pitched 5 innings
for the Capitals only allowing 2 runs for the team.

Matt Lis, Derek Pike and Nick Johnson had two hits a piece for
the capitals. Nick Johnson and Tyler Lepage pitched very well
for the Capitals.
Ct Capitals 10 R.I. Mustangs 0
The bats came alive for the Capitals scoring 7 runs alone in the
first inning. The Capitals also had a great pitching performance
by Zach Decaro who didn't allow a runner past second in 4
innings. This win helped the Capitals make it to the final four
of the tournament.
Manchester Mayhem 11 Ct Capitals 3
Capitals Sweep Technique Tigers 9-8 The Capitals scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the game. Zach Decaro pitched 4 2/3 innings and Tyler Lepage came in to pich 2 1/3 of solid relief. In the bottom of the 7th with 1 out the Capitals had 5 back-to-back hits. Jason Maulucci came up with 2 outs and winning run on second and hit a flare to second base that fell in to win the game. Nick Barone, Troy Russel and Matt Zawislinski had two hits a piece in the first game. Derek Pike threw out 5 runners. 3-0 The Capitals came out scoring 3 runs in the first inning which is all they needed with James Sullivan's pitching performance. Nick Baron had a double that scored 1 run and Zach Decaro had a single that scored another run. The third run came across the plate on a past ball. Ryan Mercer helped the Capitals by pitching tow solid innings of relief. Matt Zawislinski went 3-3 all base hits.
