Philosophy Bill Masse, owner of Baseball City and instruction coordinator for the CT Capitals travel program, has been around the greatest players in the game for extended periods of time - Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, etc. - and they need instruction almost on a daily basis!! These great players are constantly working with a hitting coach, fielding coach, pitching coach and manager to make themselves better. Baseball is a skill sport. Repetition is the only way to get better. If your son or daughter is swinging the wrong way, throwing the wrong way, or fielding the wrong way for an extended period of time it is very difficult to break these poor habits. What age should I start professional lessons - as soon as possible!! Learning how to do these baseball skills properly at an early age will allow your son or daughter only to merely "tweak" these skills when they get older, rather than having to have a complete makeover later on. Professional baseball instruction is what Bill does for a living. Everyday he is working with aspiring major league players in the minor leagues - refining their skills, getting them in the correct positions to be successful. The staff at Baseball City is constantly teaching every individual player who walks through our door the "correct" way to be a successful baseball or softball player. Bill's knowledge has been passed on to every instructor at Baseball City. Our goal at Baseball City is to have every player get better - period!!! The only way to do this is to have professional instruction - giving your son or daughter the best possible chance to be successful by learning how to do these skills correctly. If Derek Jeter needs daily instruction - I'm sure your son or daughter will also benefit from our professional instruction at Baseball City!!
Baseball is a simple game, however, it is not easy to play. We guarantee that the product we produce and put on the field everyday will play hard and be fundamentally sound.
We will play anybody, anywhere and anytime. We realize it will take some time to earn respect in travel baseball, but no one will work harder than us and do more for your child. You can’t find great competition if you are playing for your local town or recreation program. There are simply not enough good players to push your own child. You have to go elsewhere to put your own child in a competitive situation so they can realize what it takes.
Every Little Leaguer dreams of going to Williamsport to play in the Little League World Series. However, only one team in New England gets to go each year. It is our belief that we are able to offer your child more…more in terms of advanced baseball instruction, premier competition, lifetime experiences and the development of long lasting relationships. Competing in a national tournament is an experience not many young men/boys will ever get to do or forget.
Our coaches have outstanding baseball credentials and we make sure people know it. All our coaches are strong in all facets of the game and must pass a rigorous coaching certification program to coach our teams. All our coaches are current or former players or coaches at the high school, collegiate or professional levels. Capital baseball does not believe in letting parents of current players coach. We believe the inherent conflict of interest is not good for the coach, the player, the other team members or the parents. In addition, our staff is made up of professional coaches whose only agenda is to teach you the game of baseball.
With the professional contacts and relationships Bill Masse has made we feel that our players have a true advantage over others. On the professional level; area, regional and national scouts are just a phone call away. On the collegiate level; Bill's reputation will go a long way with a college coach. We hope all of our players will go to college and play baseball, and we believe that a vast majority of them will play and contribute significantly. For those that have the ability, we certainly want you to keep the dream of pro ball alive and never forget the aspirations of being a big leaguer.
