TEAM STRUCTURE
10u
The 10u team plays a
competitive regional schedule versus teams from Rhode Island,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut. We will play up to 4
tournaments on the regional level including two Triple Crown
Tournaments. If you want your child to learn the proper baseball
habits so they become engrained properly then this is the program you
need to invest in. Local town programs cannot match the coaching,
instruction and competitive schedule the Capitals have designed.
Season begins in early April and finishes in July.
12u
Our 12U program is all where
the real baseball players surface. We look for natural talent,
potential and coachability. This team plays a competitive schedule
and benefits from the high energy practice and curriculum offered by
Baseball City. Our primary play originates out of the GNHBL
in which we play out of the PEE WEE REESE league. This team plays
on a 50/70 field and gets the boys ready for the big diamond. The
schedule will be in conjunction with the teams local league and there
will be home and away games depending on the teams access to the larger
diamond. The league is not set up to replace the schedule of your teams
local league but to add to it. The schedule will be set up on an
availability status which means that we will make sure that the teams
can field a full roster. We will also be competing in three major
tournaments this summer at War of the Shore, Baseball Heaven and Triple
Crown.
13u
The CT Capitals 13 year old
program is where little leaguers learn to become major leaguers. This
is not a program that just rolls the balls out. We model this program
after elite high school programs and collegiate programs carefully
following a professional curriculum designed by Baseball City’s own Bill
Masse. It all begins with the proper discipline both mentally and
physically. This is a program for “men.” Our commitment to discipline,
combined with the best coaching staff, has made the CT Capitals 13U
program the only place to develop your child. If the proper mechanics
and baseball personality is not conditioned early in one’s baseball
career, many times it becomes too late.
►The 13U plays an extensive
50+ game schedule beginning in April. Games
are scheduled for weekends only in April and May against other CT AAU
programs and independent teams. The 13U state AAU tournament play
begins in early June. Play continues in the Greater New Haven Sandy Koufax
League and against in-state and out-of-state opponents. The AAU
National Championship concludes our season in Myrtle Beach.
►Team
roster is 15 players
►CT
Capital instructional clinics/practices are held indoors
only on weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday) during the
winter.
►There
are no guarantees of playing time.
You can play on other teams, but
our games and practices take priority (except for middle school or high
school teams). However,
you cannot pitch on another team without our permission. If you pitch
for your school team you must tell us when you pitched last, how many
innings and the number of pitches you threw, and when your coach plans
to pitch you again. At ages 13U-16U you cannot play on your
summer all-star team.
14u
The 14U team operates
much like the 13U program with respect to schedule, tournaments,
practice and games. The intensity of this level picks up
considerably and tournament play is a must for maximum exposure and
competition. The 14U level is where certain players begin to
separate themselves from the pack. The players on this level learn
to compete and go at it hard everyday from strength training to skill
development players in this program are pushed hard. The regular season begins in April with most of the
games played on the weekends. We play in the GNHBL which is a
multi-sanctioned league which has affiliation to AABC and USSSA.
This allows teams to qualify for state, regional and national
tournaments. This league consists of a 28-32 game schedule. In addition,
our competition will be against JV and
Varsity high school programs along with our regular AAU/travel teams
throughout Connecticut. Thus, we play an exclusive AAU schedule and if
the teams qualify we begin AAU states in early June. The season finishes
at the end of July with the National AAU Tournament.
►Team
roster is between 14-16 players.

16u
Our highest level of
play and includes a local schedule (GNHBL) followed by selected regional
tournaments including New York State Championship (Baseball Heaven). Coach Barnowski and staff will
also play in the Mickey
Mantle tournament at the conclusion of the season.
