Typical
Season
We are thinking baseball
all the time! Technically, there is never an off-season for us and
our coaching staff. We are constantly instructing, planning and
organizing our next practice, lesson, tournament or team. Changing
the attitude and baseball culture will forever be our number #1 goal.
Through our partnership with Baseball City the dreams of skills building
all year long in this state of the art indoor training facility is fully
attainable to finally compete with the nations best Travel Programs.
If
selected to play for the CT Capitals select teams our typical season
looks much like this. Please see below.
A TYPICAL SEASON
The typical season for all CT Capitals Baseball teams includes three
components:
Tryouts (Must
attend and be selected by coaches.)
The CT Capitals offer a pre-season tryout for all players in
November, December, January, February and March (depending on age
level of play). The tryout will be an instructional clinic as well
as a tryout. There will be a total of 6 hours of instruction in all facets of the
game. No returning players are automatically
on a roster, they must tryout for all roster spots. Cost for the
clinic/tryout will be posted. If selected to join our team for the
travel season our coaches will contact you the week after the final
tryout date.
Winter Program
Winter
Workouts/clinics
CT Capitals Baseball winter program is conducted at Baseball City’s Indoor
Training facility in Hartford, CT.
-
The baseball
program conducts program wide workouts during the
winter; from December, January, February and March until the start of the season. Sessions will be announced and
are conducted during the weekday evenings or Saturday, Sunday mornings or
evenings at
Baseball City.
Winter workouts sessions are important to attend and
designed to build on the fundamentals in order for us to hit the
outdoor season in full stride.
-
Some of the
teams also conduct weeknight team workouts beginning
in January and
concluding in late March. The coaching staff uses these sessions to
begin preparing the team for the transition outdoors.
-
Homework - All our players are required to do "homework".
All our players must put in the time to be great and I can assure
you this does not happen by mistake. Our player development
program is designed to teach the "correct" way to develop baseball
skills.
-
CT Capitals Hitter's Club Membership
is included in the cost of the CT Capital Baseball program. This
entitles you to unlimited use of the facility once you have been
chosen to a team all the way through the season and until next
seasons tryouts. As long as you are a Capital, the facility
is yours to use.
